We had a blast on our hike! Thank you so much to everyone who donated items or volunteered their time to make the trail mix hike possible.
We also had fun parading in our costumes and celebrating with a party!
The kids did such a GREAT job presenting their landform projects. I will be sending home feedback for them next week so they know what they did well and what can be improved in the future!
We also spent some time on the computers learning the location of the 7 continents and 5 oceans. Students are expected to be able to label these on a blank world map. I will send home a study guide and the date of our test in next week's homework packet.
We had such an amazing time exploring art at the Currier Museum. We were able to examine not only MC Escher's work and investigate elements that he included in his work, like reflection and symmetry, but we also were able to see artwork by Picasso, Van Gogh, and even local artists. We discussed how models can help us understand some of MC Escher's fantasy architecture and constructed our own polyhedrons. It was a great field trip!
Mrs. Pelletier, our guidance counselor, taught us a lesson about empathy today and choosing kind words with each other. We met "Mr. Blue" and reflected on past experiences with mean comments. We saw how it tore a piece of Mr. Blue and even when we apologized, he could not be completely mended. We are encouraged to be "bucket fillers" and help each other feel good about ourselves.
I am a third grade teacher in Milford. I am blogging about what is going on in our classroom in order to improve communication with families and the community.
