We went to Canobie Lake Park and Dominic had a blast on all of the rides. The best was the Log Flume. I knew when they were going to take the picture so I told him to smile. He tried to smile even though he was scared on the big drop. (I did the same thing too!) When we were done, I asked Dominic if he was okay. He replied, "I was so brave!" He made me laugh. He is so cute!
I went to the windy city this weekend and boy was it a blast! Before I got there, I was most excited about the food that Chicago is famous for - deep dish pizza and hot dogs! So, we got some hot dogs AND we tried Chicago-style deep dish pizza at three different restaurants, three nights in a row! Chicago is a truly cool city. The buildings were so beautiful and extremely TALL. We took an architecture river tour to learn about some of these historic buildings. We even went up the tallest building in America: the Willis Tower (formerly or aka the Sears Tower). The building is 103 stories tall and, though I climb mountains that are much taller, I'll admit I was very nervous about the elevator ride. Once we were at the top, my amazement overtook my fear; I could see out for miles from that height. It was a truly spectacular view of the city!
Hello! How has your summer been treating you? My summer has been off to a great start and I am hoping to be better about updating you.
My family and I have been spending a lot of quality time together. With the heat, we have spent many hours by my pool or at the beach. I haven't hiked as much as I'd like to, but on Friday I am planning to hike up one of my favorites, Mt. Osceola.
I started doing these crazy boot camp exercises to help train for my obstacle course races. I am planning to complete the Tough Mudder, a 12+ mile obstacle course race, in August, the day before I start school and three days before YOU start school. I'll admit, I'm very nervous but excited.
Since the fourth of July was a total washout, I celebrated the FIFTH of July with my friends and family. My friends had a BBQ and it was a puppy party for Java too! She played all day and then became so tired. She even let us put sunglasses on her while she was resting. Isn't she adorable?
I am a third grade teacher in Milford. I am blogging about what is going on in our classroom in order to improve communication with families and the community.
